Oh my goodness, the final countdown! I can barely believe it's genuinely 10 days or less until we get to meet our precious baby boy. This last stretch of pregnancy, especially around the holidays, feels like a unique blend of excitement, impatience, and a touch of surreal calm. To all the December mamas out there, are you feeling ready for your little Christmas miracle? For me, these last few days have been a whirlwind of double-checking everything. Is the hospital bag really packed with everything we need for both me and the little one? I've gone over it twice, making sure to include those tiny hats and swaddles for our baby boy. We even did a dry run of the car seat installation – definitely recommend that if you haven't already! It's surprising how tricky those buckles can be when you’re already sleep-deprived and emotional. And of course, the nursery is finally complete, stocked with all the essentials, just waiting for his arrival. Emotionally, it's a rollercoaster! One minute I'm brimming with joy, picturing his tiny face, and the next I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by the unknown. It's okay to feel a mix of everything, I've learned. My partner has been amazing, helping me navigate these feelings and reminding me to breathe. I've found that gentle walks, listening to calming music, and even just talking to other expectant moms (like you all!) helps so much. It's a reminder that I'm not alone in this incredible journey. Being a Christmas baby mama adds another layer of fun and planning. We've tried to keep our holiday celebrations simple this year, focusing on what truly matters: family and preparing for our newest addition. It's a unique experience, knowing our little one will forever have a birthday close to such a magical time. If any of you have experience with Christmas babies, I'd love to hear how you manage to make their birthday special amidst the holiday cheer! I'm also paying close attention to my body, looking for any subtle signs that labor might be starting. While I'm trying not to obsess, it's good to be aware. Resting as much as possible, staying hydrated, and eating nourishing meals are my top priorities right now. After all, I'm going to need all my energy for the big day! It's hard to believe that this chapter of waiting is almost over, and the adventure of parenthood is truly about to begin.
