recreating hudson williams’s met gala glam #makeup #hudsonwilliams #metgala2026
Hey beauties! So, like many of you, I was absolutely captivated by Hudson Williams' Met Gala glam. As a boy that wears makeup, seeing that kind of representation on such a huge stage was truly inspiring. However, I also found myself thinking, 'I love the concept, but I feel like it could have been prettier.' You know that feeling when you see an incredible look, but your mind immediately starts buzzing with ways to put your own spin on it? That's exactly what happened! I decided to recreate it today, but with my own little 'pretty boy makeup' take on it, focusing on making it sharper, dewier, and even more impactful. First things first, skin prep is absolutely crucial for any iconic look. The inspiration seemed to have a really fresh, dewy base, which I adore. Even though some people clocked a bit of a '5 o'clock shadow,' it actually added to the raw, edgy vibe. For my version, I focused on a hydrating primer and a light, dewy foundation to get that luminous finish. I used a touch of concealer under the eyes and around the nose to brighten, but kept it minimal to let my natural skin peek through, just like his appeared. I noticed a soft mauve blush on his cheeks, so I blended a similar shade high on my cheekbones for a lifted effect. And since his skin was very dewy, I'm not gonna worry about setting this with powder too much – just a light press in the T-zone if absolutely necessary to maintain that fresh glow. Now, let's get into the fun part: the eyes! Honestly, this is where I feel like I could really elevate the look. I use this trick a lot in my makeup routine: if you want a sharp, precise eyeshadow wing, put some tape on your eyes! It’s a game-changer. We're going to start off with some black shadow for the wing. I built this out directly from my lash line, creating a dramatic, elongated shape. It’s funny, I actually got black eyeshadow on my face initially – total disaster moment! But hey, that's part of the process, right? Apparently, Hudson's look was inspired by the Black Swan, which explains that very dark, sultry winged-out moment. To add my 'prettier' touch, I layered a vibrant blue eyeshadow over the black wing, creating a stunning gradient. The original look also had a bold red element. I decided to start to shift that red shadow down my nose, creating a unique, almost avant-garde contour, blending it softly towards my inner brows. Then, I took a little bit of that red and packed this on the brow, especially on the inner corners, to really tie the blue and red combo together. The grand reveal of peeling off the tape... oh my god, look how sharp that is! I absolutely love how the blue and the red combo came together – it looks so good! It’s edgy, artistic, but still feels polished and 'pretty.' To finish off this look, I kept the lips simple and hydrated with just a touch of lip balm, letting the eyes be the absolute star. Here is the finished Hudson Williams glam, my personalized take! I truly believe this version offers a bit more precision and a clearer color story while still honoring the original inspiration. What do you guys think? Would you try this makeup look, or my 'prettier' boy makeup take on it? I can't wait to hear your thoughts!
