UNPOPULAR OPINION
You might be thinking, “shes only saying this bc shes a liberal,” and while, yes, I am certainly not all for the trump administration, I do have respect for both sides and know I likely don’t know enough yet to form a solid opinion. But what I do know is there are many people, especially my age, that just hop on a bandwagon behind their parents instead of forming their own opinions. This, mixed with the fact that most trump supporters arguments revolve around the fact he’s a “christian,” is the reason I believe what I believe.
Growing up in a small town where trends and religion are the main social goals, it’s very easy to be bullied for disagreeing with literally anything trump says regardless if they even know what they’re really talking about. Sadly, what a lot of christians overlook is that the Jesus in religion and Jesus from the bible are two completely different concepts. From a ‘religious’ standpoint, things like abortion are wrong. But the way Jesus teaches is by love and giving people the will to choose to follow him or not. So, really, implanting these invasive laws that promote religious based rules will only ever cause people to rebel.
All in all, in MY opinion, christians have been taking religion before Jesus and HIS teachings by subtly forcing people to confine to the rules of religion.

100%. It’s a big reason conservatives often push against higher education - or at least non-religious schools anyway. Once people learn to think for themselves and are actually exposed to people who are different than them the data shows a leftward trend.
