Good Hair Products for Under $6 💆🏾♀️
While salon grade hair products are the highest quality, they’re not the only way to have healthy hair, a healthy scalp and hair growth. Here are a few of the low cost products that I like.
💜 A few of the #Aussie lines are okay to me but Miracle Moist is the best. The shampoo doesn’t provide as much moisture as most expensive lines like KeraCare, Mizani Moisture Fusion or Joico Moisture Recovery but it definitely gets the job done as a first or second shampoo. The conditioner tho is great with a lot of slip for curly girls.
🧡 Africas Best Hair Mayonnaise is an OG. Nothing else to say.
💛Sulfur 8 is an OG as well for clarifying. It’s typically recommended to those with more serious scalp issues like seborrheic dermatitis, scalp psoriasis, etc. If you don’t suffer with serious dandruff, you may want to skip this one to avoid stripping the hair too much. Instead scroll to the last slide.
💙 Blue Magic is another affordable staple. No, as a community we should’ve never strayed away. This is a MUCH better option than “hair growth” scalp oils. Grease was made to avoid dryness of the scalp by providing the right amount of moisture without clogging the hair follicles. If used carefully, you can sometimes also use it on the shaft of the hair…sometimes.
💚 #TraderJoes is on the come up with trendy beauty products. The hair section could use the most work but I’m not too mad at this shampoo (not the conditioner—it’s might okay for some people but if you have texture, no). The tingle shampoo does exactly that. The tea tree smell is enjoyable as well. It doesn’t sud up as much as some shampoos but it gets the job done for $4.
I’d highly recommend splurging on at least one or two higher quality products to add to the mix if possible. These are all from Family Dollar/Dollar General but another budget friendly hack is using what you may have in the house. Olive oil, mayonnaise, eggs, aloe. I used to do this and while it’s not my favorite, it’s an option.
