Share that testimony! First Bible conversation!
In this video series I will be speaking on why it’s important for us Christians to be sharing our testimony’s
Hey everyone! So glad you're here to chat about something truly close to my heart: sharing our testimonies. Sometimes it feels intimidating, right? Like, 'Is my story interesting enough?' or 'What if I don't say the right thing?' But I've learned that every single one of our journeys with Christ is a powerful testament to His faithfulness, and it's so vital for us to share it. Think about it – when a friend tells you about how they overcame a challenge, doesn't it give you hope? It’s the same with our faith stories. Sharing your testimony isn't just about recounting events; it's about showcasing God's active hand in your life. It encourages fellow believers, strengthens your own faith as you reflect on His goodness, and most importantly, it glorifies Him. It shows others that God is real, active, and deeply involved in our daily lives, offering hope and transformation. This ties beautifully into what we find in scripture. I’ve been reflecting on Psalm 32:8 recently, which says, 'I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.' Isn't that just a wonderful promise? Our testimonies are often the living, breathing proof of this verse in action. They are the stories of how God did instruct us, how He did teach us which path to take, and how His loving eye was on us even when we felt lost or made mistakes. When we share our testimony, we're essentially providing a 'life application' of God's word. We're showing how His promises, like the one in Psalm 32:8, come alive in real-world experiences. Maybe you were struggling with a major decision, and through prayer and seeking wise counsel (God's instruction!), you found clarity. Or perhaps you were caught in a difficult situation, and looking back, you can clearly see how God's loving eye guided you through it, protecting and delivering you. These are the powerful narratives that make up our testimonies, reflecting the truth of scripture. So, how can we share our stories effectively? It doesn't have to be a grand sermon. Start small. Practice telling your story in three main parts: your life before Christ, how you came to know Him, and how your life has changed since. Focus on God's role in each stage. What did He teach you? How did He guide you? Be authentic and vulnerable, but always point back to His grace and power. Utilising resources like a 'life APPLICATION Study Bible' can be incredibly helpful here. It helps you connect your personal experiences directly to biblical truths, making your testimony even more impactful and rooted in God's word. It’s like having a guide to help you articulate how God's principles have played out in your own life. Don't underestimate the power of your unique story. It's a gift from God, meant to be shared. Your testimony might be exactly what someone else needs to hear to find hope, take a step of faith, or understand God's guidance in their own life.
