Kamikochi🏔️✨Road trip EP.0
Planning a road trip across Japan offers an unforgettable way to experience the country's diverse landscapes, culture, and cuisine. Starting from Nagoya, I found the drive to Takayama particularly charming with its preserved Edo-period streets and vibrant local markets. Takayama is renowned for Hida beef, which I highly recommend trying at a restaurant like Amiya Yakiniku for an authentic taste. From Takayama to Kamikochi, the journey leads to breathtaking mountainous scenery. Kamikochi’s natural beauty made it one of my favorite spots, ideal for hiking and enjoying Japan’s iconic alpine views. Since Kamikochi reopens seasonally, it's best to check the opening schedule ahead to catch the best weather and trail conditions. Continuing to Hakuba, a famous ski resort, the area is excellent not only for winter sports but also for hiking during warmer months. Matsumoto offers a mix of urban life and history, highlighted by Matsumoto Castle and local culinary treats like sakura ramen, which I found delightful and unique. The trip concludes in Tokyo, blending the tranquility experienced in the mountains with the dynamic urban atmosphere. Along the way, I enjoyed small unique experiences such as vending machine sake and local eateries offering specialties like Hamburg steak. This road trip perfectly balances cultural immersion, culinary delights, and stunning natural views, which makes it ideal for anyone wanting a full Japan experience by car. Stay tuned for my next episodes where I’ll share detailed tips and hidden gems discovered during this adventure.
