This book was INSANE.

Traumatized isn’t the word, disgusted isn’t either. I genuinely have no words after reading this book.

But if you like the sound of that then I think this bite sized book is a perfect read for this Halloween! It sure spooked my stomach, I had to put it down a few times.

Reader beware, you’re in for more than a scare.

10/10 would not read again.

... Read moreOkay, so you've heard my initial, raw reaction to '100% MATCH' by Patrick C. Harrison III. I called it insane, traumatizing, disgusted... and I stand by every single word. But let me dive a little deeper into why this bite-sized book is such a standout, especially if you're hunting for a truly memorable 'SPOOKY READ' this Halloween. When I picked up '100% MATCH' on my e-reader, I was expecting a quick thrill, maybe a jump scare or two. What I got was an experience that burrowed under my skin and stayed there. Patrick C. Harrison III has a way of crafting scenarios that feel unsettlingly real, pushing boundaries without relying on cheap tricks. It’s not just about what happens in the story; it’s about what it makes you think about, what it forces you to confront. My stomach felt queasy, not from gore necessarily, but from the sheer psychological weight of the narrative. It’s the kind of horror that makes you question humanity, relationships, and the dark corners of the human psyche. For anyone who loves a good mind-bending, deeply disturbing tale, this book is an absolute must-read. It’s short enough to devour in one sitting, which is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because you can get through the intensity quickly, and a curse because it leaves you with those lingering thoughts, unable to shake off the feeling long after you’ve turned the last digital page. It genuinely felt like a perfect pick for my Halloween reading challenge, offering a unique flavor of fear that's hard to find. What makes '100% MATCH' so effective as a 'SPOOKY READ' for Halloween isn't just its unsettling atmosphere; it's the way it challenges conventional horror tropes. Harrison III doesn't just present a monster; he unearths the monstrous within the mundane. This is the sort of story that sparks intense discussions and makes you wonder how you’d react in similar impossible situations. It's a masterclass in psychological tension, proving that sometimes, the scariest things are the ones that are disturbingly plausible. If you’re looking to truly embrace the dark side of the season and want a book that will genuinely make you uncomfortable (in the best horror way possible!), then add '100% MATCH' by Patrick C. Harrison III to your list. Just be prepared to put it down a few times, take some deep breaths, and perhaps question everything you thought you knew about a 'perfect match.' It's a reading experience I won't forget, even if I'm not brave enough to revisit it anytime soon. What are your go-to genuinely unsettling reads for Halloween? I'd love to hear some recommendations that can rival this one!

👀 I’m scared of the cover so I know the book will terrify me. When I was younger, I used to read Stephen King books and Pet Semetary traumatized me for like a month. I slept with my parents until they finally kicked me out😂😂😂😂
