2024 seems like so long ago, but 2020 DANCES!? 😮💨 #onthisday
Looking back at my experience in 2020, I remember how intimidating it felt to dance on TikTok. Despite watching countless videos, I was too scared to join in. The fear of judgment and self-consciousness held me back. However, as time went on, I realized that overcoming that fear was an important step towards self-expression and confidence. Now, in 2024, preparing to return to work after maternity leave, I see many parallels between facing anxieties about dancing publicly and re-entering the professional world after a break. Both require courage, resilience, and a willingness to embrace vulnerability. Sharing my journey has helped me understand that growth often comes from pushing past discomfort. For others hesitant to start dancing or trying new things online, I recommend starting small – practice in private, then share with trusted friends before posting publicly. Remember that many people experience fear and insecurity; overcoming them is a personal victory. TikTok and other social platforms have become spaces for creativity and community, where authenticity is valued more than perfection. Returning to work after maternity leave also means adapting to new routines and balancing priorities, much like learning to dance confidently. Both experiences emphasize the importance of patience, self-compassion, and celebrating small achievements. Embracing these lessons has empowered me to approach challenges with a positive mindset and inspired me to continue sharing my story.
