so much of this journal entry revolved around not knowing what was next or what to expect. I had to let go of the need for control and a point of reference. my only option was to take a chance and see where it would lead me - a means of survival. the theme that tied this all together was recognizing the resilience in me and that even if it didn’t work out, I was confident that the strength in me would keep me going.

today is two years since my first immunotherapy treatment. it just felt right to start sharing the story behind pieces in the book with this one - the day that started the rest of my life🤍

From my own journey, I learned that the path forward is often uncertain, and controlling every outcome is impossible. Embracing this uncertainty became a vital survival mechanism, allowing me to focus energy on healing and growth rather than fear. Immunotherapy, in particular, was a turning point for me. It wasn’t simply a treatment; it marked a new beginning filled with hope but also an acceptance of risk and unknowns. Trusting the process, even when the outcome was unclear, helped me cultivate resilience—a strength not born of ignorance but of conscious choice to persevere despite doubts. Another powerful element in my healing journey was creative expression. Writing poetry and journaling allowed me to process complex emotions and document my transformation. Sharing pieces of this experience through my book, "Everything But Linear," has been therapeutic and empowering, turning personal trials into universal messages of courage and endurance. I encourage anyone facing tough times to acknowledge their own resilience. Sometimes, what others see as optimism might feel like foolishness—but such trust in the journey is a legitimate and invaluable method of survival. It’s OK to feel uncertain about what comes next; what matters most is your commitment to keep moving forward, trusting that your inner strength will guide you through. If you’re interested, exploring works that revolve around themes of resilience, survival, and healing can offer additional comfort and perspective. Remember, you are not alone in this, and sharing your story can inspire others just as much as hearing theirs inspires you.
