Recovery is not a break, but a "rehearsal in another dimension."
In the world of runners, "Recovery" is often thought of as just a day when we do nothing, sit and watch a series, eat and wait for the day to resume practice, but actually, good Recovery doesn't just mean "stop running," but "practice in another dimension," which is not development, muscle or speed, but the development of regeneration, body flexibility, and inner strength.
Why is Recovery as important as rehearsal day?
When practicing, the body will cause "small damage" to the muscles, nervous system and mind. Real growth will occur during recovery, not in practice. If we do not give the body time to recover, the body will accumulate stress, ending with "pain, slow, and fire."
Good Recovery is still "rehearsing," but smart rehearsal.
Instead of taking a do-nothing break, let's change the idea of Recovery = "Active Recovery." What we can do on Recovery Day will help the body repair faster and resume hard practice better.
Recovery samples that are still "rehearsing":
- Run Zone 1 slowly for 20-40 minutes to stimulate blood flow.
- Quick Walk / Light Cycling / Chill Swim
- Foam rolling and mobility work (e.g. dynamic stretching)
- Training breathing or yoga movement for runners
- Eat well, sleep well, because sleep is the peak recovery.
Recovery tells us: "We don't have to practice hard every day to improve."
Sometimes we want to run so quickly that we forget that running is a long game, not a 100-meter sprint. Many good runners do not practice much more than us, but they are more "at the right pace."
Good Recovery is not just a "rest day," but a "deep attention to the body" to get us back on the run with stronger conditions.
Recovery หรือการฟื้นฟูร่างกายหลังการฝึกซ้อมเป็นหัวใจสำคัญของนักวิ่งที่ต้องการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน การฟื้นฟูไม่ใช่เพียงแค่การหยุดพักนิ่งๆ แต่เป็นการทำกิจกรรมที่ช่วยซ่อมแซมกล้ามเนื้อ ระบบประสาท และจิตใจ โดยเรียกว่าการซ้อมในมิติใหม่ (Active Recovery) ที่ช่วยกระตุ้นการไหลเวียนเลือด ลดความตึงเครียด และเร่งกระบวนการฟื้นฟูเซลล์ การใช้วิธี Recovery ที่เหมาะสมยังช่วยลดความเสี่ยงต่อการบาดเจ็บและเหนื่อยล้าสะสม ซึ่งมักเกิดจากการซ้อมหนักเกินไปโดยไม่พักฟื้นอย่างเพียงพอ เทคนิคอย่างการวิ่งช้าหรือเดินเร็วในโซนต่ำ ปั่นจักรยานเบาๆ หรือว่ายน้ำแบบผ่อนคลาย ช่วยให้กล้ามเนื้อได้รับออกซิเจนเพียงพอและลดการสะสมของกรดแลคติก นอกจากนี้ การทำ Foam rolling และ mobility work เช่น dynamic stretching ช่วยเพิ่มความยืดหยุ่นและลดความตึงตัวของกล้ามเนื้อ อีกหนึ่งองค์ประกอบที่สำคัญคือการฝึกหายใจและการเคลื่อนไหวแบบโยคะสำหรับนักวิ่ง ซึ่งช่วยเสริมสร้างความแข็งแรงจากภายใน ส่งเสริมสมดุลระบบประสาท และช่วยให้จิตใจผ่อนคลาย ช่วงเวลาของการนอนหลับที่เพียงพอถือเป็นการฟื้นฟูที่มีประสิทธิภาพที่สุด โดยสมองจะซ่อมแซมและเก็บเกี่ยวประสิทธิภาพจากการฝึกซ้อมได้ดีที่สุดในช่วงนี้ ด้วยการเปลี่ยนมุมมองว่า Recovery คือการซ้อมอีกมิติ นักวิ่งจะไม่เพียงแต่ลดความเสี่ยงบาดเจ็บและอาการเหนื่อยล้าเท่านั้น แต่ยังช่วยเร่งการปรับตัวและพัฒนาศักยภาพของร่างกายอย่างต่อเนื่อง การวางแผนวันฟื้นฟูอย่างมีระบบจึงเป็นกุญแจสำคัญสู่การวิ่งที่ยาวนานและประสบความสำเร็จในระยะยาว
