We all have dreams and goals, right? We sketch out 'our plan' for the future, whether it's for our career, relationships, or personal growth. But if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably experienced moments when your carefully laid out path takes an unexpected detour, or even seems to crumble completely. It can be incredibly frustrating and disheartening. This is precisely where I've learned to truly lean into the concept of 'God's Plan,' and it has profoundly transformed my perspective and daily life. It’s not just about passively accepting whatever comes your way. For me, embracing God’s Plan means actively cultivating a relationship with Him, trusting that His wisdom far surpasses my own understanding, and knowing that even in difficult situations, there’s a divine purpose unfolding. My morning routine has become a cornerstone of this practice. It's more than just waking up; it's about purposefully dedicating those first precious moments to the Waymaker. Instead of immediately checking my phone or rushing into the day, I start with gratitude. I literally list things I’m thankful for, from the simple act of breathing to the roof over my head. This simple practice shifts my mindset from scarcity to abundance. Then, I turn to prayer and scripture. Like the image of an open Bible with colorful tabs, I mark passages that speak to my heart, often finding comfort and direction in stories of faith, even from ancient texts like Daniel or Ezekiel, which remind us of God's steadfastness through trials. It's not about complex theological study every morning, but about soaking in His truth and letting it reset my outlook. My journal, similar to the one I have titled 'God's Plan,' serves as a sacred space where I pour out my thoughts, fears, and hopes. It's where I consciously affirm my trust in Him, reminding myself that His timing is perfect and His plans are for my good, even when I can't see the full picture. This isn't always easy, especially when my 'plan' feels so compelling. It requires a daily surrender, a conscious choice to release control and accept that there might be something better, something I haven't even imagined, waiting for me. The beauty of this journey is finding peace amidst uncertainty. When I feel overwhelmed by my own ambitions or disappointed by setbacks, returning to this morning practice helps me re-center. It's about remembering that while I have a role to play in stewarding my life, the ultimate architect is God. This trust allows me to find beauty in unexpected circumstances, to learn from challenges, and to approach each day with a sense of calm resilience. So, if you're feeling stuck between 'your plan' and what life is throwing at you, I truly encourage you to dedicate a few moments each morning to gratitude, prayer, and simply trusting in a plan far grander than your own. It's a journey of faith, and it’s one that promises profound peace.
