Cord cutting
Sometimes we just have to cut the cords from situations that do not mean us any good

Hey everyone! You know that feeling when you just can't shake off a past situation or relationship that, even long over, still feels like it's draining your energy? That's exactly why I started exploring cord cutting rituals. I used to think I had to just 'get over' things, but then I discovered this powerful spiritual practice that literally helps you sever energetic ties that no longer serve you. And trust me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a lil cord cutting when it’s done with intention and love. So, what exactly is a cord cutting ritual? It's a symbolic and energetic practice designed to release unhealthy attachments, emotional dependencies, or draining connections you might have with another person, a past event, or even an old version of yourself. It's not about wishing ill on anyone, but rather about reclaiming your own energy and sovereignty. For me, it's been pivotal in moving forward from relationships that had run their course but still felt heavy on my spirit. Why Consider a Cord Cutting Ritual? Energetic cords can leave you feeling drained, replaying old arguments, or just generally stuck. I've found it incredibly helpful for: Releasing toxic relationships: Even after a breakup, emotional cords can keep you entangled. Healing from past trauma: Letting go of the emotional residue from difficult experiences. Regaining personal power: When you feel like someone else's energy or expectations are holding you back. Moving on: Creating space for new, positive experiences and connections. My Simple Cord Cutting Ritual (What I Use & How I Do It): You don't need anything fancy for this; intention and focus are key. Here’s what I typically gather: Two Candles: One represents you, the other the person/situation. I often pick white for purity. String or Yarn: About 12-18 inches long. This is your symbolic cord. Ensure it can burn safely. A Fire-Safe Dish or Bowl: To catch wax/ashes. Matches or a Lighter. The Steps I Follow: Set the Space: I find a quiet spot, perhaps light some incense for calm. Ground Yourself: Take deep breaths, imagine roots growing from your feet into the earth. Set Your Intention: Crucial! Clearly state aloud or in your mind: "I am here to lovingly and respectfully cut all energetic cords that no longer serve my highest good with [person's name/situation]. I release all attachments with love and gratitude, reclaiming my power." Prepare the Candles: Place candles a few inches apart. Tie the string around their bases, creating a loop. This string represents the energetic cord. Focus and Visualize: Light both candles. As they burn, focus on the string. Visualize the energetic connection you want to release, seeing all energy flowing through it. The Cutting: As the candles burn down, the flame will eventually reach and burn through the string. This is the symbolic moment of the cord cutting. Post-Ritual Reflection: Once severed, take a moment. Feel the shift – lightness, relief, or emotions. Allow them to pass. Give Thanks: Thank the universe/guides. Safely extinguish candles. After the Ritual: I always practice self-care: a relaxing bath, meditation, or journaling. This is a healing process. You might not feel a dramatic shift instantly, but over time, you'll likely notice subtle changes – less emotional reactivity, more inner peace, and a clearer sense of self. It's a beautiful way to honor your past while stepping powerfully into your future.
