I'm anticipating the fast-paced, unputdownable style that Coben masters so well, full of unexpected turns. Finally, All Good People Here by Ashley Flowers, the host of the popular 'Crime Junkie' podcast. This one has such a vivid cover with a red barn and car under a colorful sky. The premise involves a journalist returning to her small hometown to cover a cold case murder that eerily mirrors an unsolved case from her childhood. I'm hoping for a tense, atmospheric mystery, true to her podcast style. Now, I know some of you might be looking for something a bit quicker, perhaps a short novella to dive into during a busy week. While my recent library picks are full-length novels, I totally get the appeal of a novella! They're fantastic for getting a complete story experience in just a few sittings. Libraries are actually amazing places to find them. Often, you'll find dedicated sections for shorter works or even collections by popular authors. If you're searching for something like 'quick reads' or 'short fiction,' you might discover hidden gems in genres like psychological suspense, contemporary drama, or speculative fiction. Many publishers release novellas as standalone prequels or sequels, offering a taste of a new world without committing to a massive book. To find them, check your library's online catalog and filter by 'short stories' or 'novella' – you might be surprised by the variety! They're perfect for commuters or when you want to finish a book in a day or two.
