Building bridges
This is a massive art installation called "Building Bridges" by the Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn.
It’s located in Venice, Italy, right at the entrance of the Arsenale.
The sculpture features six pairs of giant hands, each stretching over a canal to join with the other side.
Why It Was Created
Quinn made this for the Venice Biennale in 2019.
He wanted to send a positive message about people coming together.
Each pair of hands represents a different human value:
• Friendship
• Faith
• Help
• Love
• Hope
• Wisdom
The hands are meant to show that we should build bridges with each other rather than walls.
It's pretty cool how they look like they are holding up the sky while also holding onto each other!
