Some “Lemons” for Thought ✨
I am a marketer at heart ♥️ and Lemon8, in my opinion, has really refreshed the social media space. I, and most of the people I see on here, are really trying to create a healthy digital aura which are found only in pockets on the other platforms.
Below I will go into detail about the various features I love on here from the point of view of a marketer or user generated content creator!
1. The Analytics 📊: It’s super convenient to get a quick snapshot on how your posts are doing (outside of just the number of likes and comments) when you go to your page. As opposed to having to go to analytics pages on socials to get similar information.
2. Hashtag Impressions: I swore hashtags were nearing the end of its life - lemon8 revived them🩺
They are ESSENTIAL here to get your content into the face of the people they apply to. So I love how they there is impression data shown on how well a hashtag is trending 💯
💭 I’m not sure if they do this now, but it would be cool to have data on hashtags you were the first to use/ or the first of few to use.
💡Impressions are how many people saw your post but didn’t necessarily like, comment or share it 💡
3. Consumer Weekly Report: This is perfect for UGCs who are trying to work with brands. They can easily present this to a company and show the value and success of what they are posting. In return, making it easier for brands to collaborate with others.
I’m pretty sure other platforms don’t do something like this as a default, and I’m definitely sure they don’t do this for everyone. So well done!! 👏🏾 👏🏾
4. Seamless Content Generation: This feature gets extra points in my book. I was digging around and found out this was a feature recommended to Lemon8 by the users and that they implemented it - and it just makes so much sense!! I love looking at all of the templates, font styles, and other creation features to draw inspiration on what I want to post and how. Especially being new to posting/ posting as frequently as I have been. It helps make posting less daunting ☮️
This feature also saves time, going to Canva and creating my content there, then going to other platform to post is very arduous on my brain energy reserves.
⭐️⭐️PLUS using templates, stickers and font styles etc… that people are used to seeing help increase engagement because people are more likely to engage with content that looks or feels similar to what they already know.
5. Focused Content Access: This is probably more of a user favorite item as opposed to a marketer POV but…. I love being able to efficiently only look at content I am looking to be fed at the moment vs having to type in a page or username, and go through a bunch of random pages — again, more time I am getting back to myself⏰
6. Challenges with Prizes?!: I haven’t seen a social media rollout/revamp offering challenges with prizes before, and even if/when they do it’s only for a short stint of time when the platform just began.
The different challenges provide a great avenue to get those creative juices flowing, especially as creative ruts are expected. The challenges (and prizes 🎁) keep it FUN and that’s what social media is intended for.. right? 😌
💭 From an advertising perspective I don’t want (and don’t think) this platform is suited well for the types of ads served on Facebook or on Instagram (even though Imo and based on what I’m served, the IG ones seam to flow seamlessly with the IG content vibe in general.)
If brands were to succeed on here they need to be “one” with us and already have a brand presence that’s on the same/closely associated with what’s already established here, instead of trying to force themselves to fit the mold.
