SEAFOOD BOIL 🦀
WHO LOVES SEAFOOD ?! Cause I DOOOOO 🦑. Seafood is most people’s favorite if they aren’t allergic !! Where is this seafood place you ask ? Well it’s in NYC called “MAD FOR CHICKEN” Cajun seafood. To be more specific I went to the one in Astoria NY. The drinks were amazing , and the food was fulfilling. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of SPICY 🌶️, I still enjoyed every bite down to the potatoes and corn 😍. When it comes to taste it was definitely hitting the spot, when it comes to the size of the shrimp and crabs it could be a little questionable, but still worth it !

Okay, so we all know how amazing a SEAFOOD BOIL can be! After my recent trip to Mad For Chicken Astoria, I've been thinking a lot about what makes a seafood boil truly unforgettable. It's not just about the food; it's the whole experience! If you're like me and constantly on the hunt for your next great seafood feast, here are some tips and thoughts on what I look for and how to make the most of it. First off, let's talk about the heart of any great SEAFOOD BOIL: the seasoning and the sauce! Whether you're into a fiery Cajun blend, a savory garlic butter, or a zesty lemon pepper mix, that flavorful liquid coating every piece of seafood is crucial. I usually go for medium spice – enough kick to wake up my taste buds without making me sweat too much! It’s all about finding that perfect balance where the spices enhance the natural sweetness of the seafood, not overpower it. This is definitely something I pay attention to when trying a new spot. Then there's the star cast – the seafood itself! Freshness is non-negotiable. I'm talking about plump, juicy shrimp, succulent crab legs (snow crab and Dungeness are my personal favorites!), and sometimes even crawfish or mussels if I’m feeling extra adventurous. But don't forget the unsung heroes of the boil: the potatoes, corn on the cob, and often, slices of smoked sausage. These absorb all that incredible flavor from the sauce and become delicious little sponges of goodness. In my recent experience, the potatoes and corn were absolutely divine – sometimes they’re even better than the seafood itself because they’re so infused with flavor! Beyond the ingredients, the whole ritual of eating a SEAFOOD BOIL is part of the fun. It’s meant to be a hands-on, slightly messy, communal affair. Forget your manners for a bit and dive right in! Here are a few personal tips I’ve picked up over the years for maximizing the enjoyment: Dress for success (or mess!): Seriously, wear something you don't mind getting a little saucy. Sleeves rolled up, maybe even a bib if they offer one! It’s all part of the authentic experience. Gloves are your best friend: Especially if you're tackling spicy boils. They keep your hands clean and protect you from any lingering spice or strong aromas. Plus, it makes cracking those crab legs a little less... sticky. Don't be shy with the tools: Crackers, picks, whatever they provide. Use them! It makes getting to that sweet meat so much easier. Embrace the communal spirit: Seafood boils are best enjoyed with friends or family. Sharing stories, laughing at the mess, and helping each other crack shells creates such a wonderful atmosphere. It’s truly a bonding experience. Soak it up: If they offer bread or rice, grab some! It’s perfect for soaking up any leftover sauce – you don't want to waste a single drop of that liquid gold. Ultimately, a great SEAFOOD BOIL is about more than just a meal; it's an event. It’s the anticipation, the aroma, the vibrant colors, and the sheer joy of cracking open a shell to reveal a tender piece of seafood. Whether you're at a dedicated Cajun spot in NYC or trying a local gem, these elements are what make me come back for more every single time. So next time you're craving that unique, delicious, and delightfully messy experience, keep these thoughts in mind. Happy boiling!
