How To Make Seafood Boil At Home

Imma give this a 8/10. Only because I’ve had restaurants to compare it to and I’m looking for a certain taste! Don’t get me wrong, ITS SUPER GOOD. But I do want to perfect this. Do y’all see anything I can do differently??

Now for the recipe: 🧪

Step 1: Garlic Butter Sauce (Start First)

Begin by melting butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions for about 3 minutes until softened, then add minced garlic and cook for another minute. Stir in Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, lemon pepper, red pepper flakes, chili powder, and a touch of brown sugar. Let everything simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes to develop rich flavors, then finish with fresh lemon juice. But don’t stop there. Adjust with Old bay, chicken paste, onion power.. even you get the taste you want. Keep the sauce warm while you prepare the seafood.

Step 2: Prepare the Seafood Boil Water

Fill a large pot with water and optionally add chicken broth for depth. Toss in Zatarain’s Crab Boil Bags along with chicken bouillon, Old Bay, Cajun seasoning, garlic and onion powders, black pepper, smoked paprika, and hot sauce (if you want extra heat you don’t have to). For extra aroma and richness, add halved and squeezed lemon, crushed garlic cloves, and a few stick of butter. Bring everything to a rolling boil.

Step 3: Cooking the Seafood & Vegetables

Start by adding baby potatoes to the boiling water and let them cook for 15 minutes. Next, add the corn and boil for another 5 minutes. Once the vegetables are partially cooked, add the lobster tails and let them cook until they turn bright red, about 5–6 minutes. Follow with the snow crab legs, which need just 5 minutes to heat through. Finally, add the shrimp, cooking for 2–3 until they turn pink and curl. Turn off the heat and let everything soak in the seasoned broth for 10 minutes before straining.
