My version of faking things

... Read moreLaughter is often said to be the best medicine, and for many, humor serves as a vital coping mechanism, especially when dealing with trauma. When faced with difficult situations or painful memories, utilizing humor can alleviate stress, foster social connections, and provide a sense of relief. Making jokes about traumatic experiences not only allows individuals to reclaim their narratives but also encourages others to understand and empathize with their struggles. In recent years, discussions around mental health have increasingly acknowledged the role of humor in healing. Researchers have found that humor can enhance mood and overall well-being, making it an essential tool in the therapeutic process. By sharing light-hearted anecdotes or making jokes about one's trauma, individuals can create a safe space for both themselves and others, breaking down barriers to dialogue and understanding. Moreover, humor can empower individuals to confront their fears and vulnerabilities. By turning painful experiences into comedic narratives, they gain a sense of control and ownership over their stories. This process can be liberating, allowing for personal growth and resilience. As those who laugh about their experiences often find community, it can lead to deeper connections with others who have faced similar challenges. In my journey, humor has been a lifeline, enabling me to engage with my trauma on my own terms. Instead of being swallowed by despair, I have learned to find lighthearted moments in the darkest times. While humor should never belittle the seriousness of trauma, it can coexist alongside grief and pain, facilitating a journey toward healing and acceptance. As I continue to navigate this complex terrain, I invite you to explore the transformative power of humor in your own life.

I could probably list 100+ things I wish I knew before joining corporate, but for the sake of keeping this post easily digestible I’ve narrowed it down to 20. 😆 My corporate journey lasted about 2.5 years, before I quit late last year to pursue entrepreneurship and content creation for the time
