Picking myself back up

Since being back to work, my depression and anxiety have been working its way into my day to day life. Working in healthcare is stressful, demanding, go-go-go mentality, draining, heartbreaking and frustrating. It doesn’t help that the rush of the holidays are here. I haven’t worked out in about 2 months… fell off the wagon again. My eating habits are HORRIBLE, craving and eating sweets and bread like they are my last meal. Feeling like my 🍃 💨 intake has been way more than usual which delays me from wanting to move my body. Feeling overwhelmed… and the list could go on and on…

…but you know what? I can pick myself back up and get myself back on track. I’ve not only done it once, I’ve done it hundreds of times. I understand it is a cycle for me and it’s something that I need to fix whether it be changing up my medication, creating a list of activities that don’t involve eating or my phone and balance my hectic life with a slow and patient vision. Today was somewhat of a refresh as I decided to do a small beginner workout to get myself in the spirit of things and meal prepping my breakfast for work this week. #workingonmyhealth #whatimdoingformymentalhealth #prioritizeyourmentalhealth #icandoit #embracevulnerability #healthylifestyle2024 #unfiltered

It's essential to acknowledge these challenges and take proactive steps towards recovery. Mental health not only affects personal well-being but also impacts workplace performance and relationships with others. Engaging in regular physical activity, even in small doses like beginner workouts, can provide a significant boost to mental health. Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. Additionally, meal prepping promotes healthy eating habits, helping to manage cravings for sweets and processed foods. It's crucial to create a personalized wellness routine that includes mindfulness practices, support systems, and, when necessary, professional help. Whether it's through therapy, medication adjustments, or support groups, taking these steps reinforces the cycle of recovery. Remember, vulnerability is a strength, and sharing your experiences can inspire and uplift others who may be feeling the same way. Let's continue to support each other in prioritizing mental health as we embrace the journey of wellness together.
