Starting a budget

So last year I made some horrendous financial decisions. I took out so many loans because I was making repairs to my old apartment. I filled this out and omg. I didn’t realize how much my loans were causing me damage. So this year is the financial responsibility year. I want to be secure again and I want to make sure I have the funds to do it. I’m starting in march because I’m using my taxes to pay those payday loans off. #budgets #financiallystable #financialfreedom

... Read moreCreating a budget is an essential step towards achieving financial freedom, especially after experiencing financial setbacks. To start, assess your total income versus your expenses; for example, you might have an income of $1,948 with expenses totaling $980. This allows for savings of $1,719, which can be used to pay down debts. Budgeting is not just about tracking your money, but also about understanding your spending habits. Establishing clear categories is vital. Ensure you include all necessary expenses, like car notes and phone bills, in your budget. Adjusting your discretionary spending on fast food or entertainment can free up funds for more critical financial goals. With tools available online, like budgeting apps, managing your finances can become an easier task. This year, aim for financial responsibility by setting specific targets—like paying off payday loans using your tax returns. Building a safety net through budgeting will help you feel more secure and prepared for unexpected costs in the future. Sharing your budgeting journey in forums and with community support #budgets can also bolster your motivation and accountability.
