I used to feel the need to explain myself repeatedly to those who misunderstood or judged me, which only exhausted my energy. Learning to stop explaining and instead choosing peace created a profound sense of relief. I found that responding slower to tense situations doesn’t mean I’m indifferent; rather, it means I’m no longer anxious to be constantly heard or validated. Detaching helped me release control, allowing people to be themselves—even when their patterns are not what I want to fix. By protecting my energy like something sacred, I carved out space for healing. One of the most powerful lessons was understanding that closure is not always external. Instead of chasing it from others, I learned to create it within myself by accepting what can’t be changed and moving forward calmly. This approach led to better sleep and less emotional turmoil. The phrase from the OCR content, "choosing distance that only survive when I over dysfunction, abandon myself, protecting my peace by letting people have their patterns," deeply resonated with me. It highlights the importance of not clinging to dysfunction or losing oneself in attempts to fix others.
