11km Pasir Ris Mangrove Broadwalk➡️ Changi Village

Went with friends for a weekend walkathon commencing from Pasir Ris MRT to Pasir Ris Park Mangrove Broadwalk, it is a short walking distance of ~850 metres for 12 minutes.

When you reach the place, have a leisure stroll through the pathway into the Mangrove Broadwalk, which is ~1.4km.

You will walk through a grassland area with some unique design of the stone sculptures which you can drop by to pose candid photos with them. There are also the bird watching hut area, straight and curve walkways with wooden railing at the sides, and the surrounding mangrove roots and branches.

There is a swamping ground of the Mud Lobster Mounds, you may get to spot the quick appearance of 1 or 2 mud mounds, before they go into hiding again.

Thereafter, walk the way out to the road side where you will exit the Pasir Ris Park.

Continue the second part of the walking journey to Civil Service Club @ Changi, ~7km with a duration of approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

The walking route begins from Pasir Ris Park -> Downtown East -> Pasir Ris Dr 3 -> Loyang Dr -> Loyang Way -> Loyang Ave PCN (very long distance and passing by Loyang Industrial Estate) -> Changi Village Road -> Changi Village Hawker Centre -> Netheravon Rd -> Civil Service Club @ Changi.

Had our dining at Canopy @ CSC. A very spacious, comfortable, oceanic atmospheric restaurant with the clear white tables and turquoise chairs. Looking out of the windows, you can admire the sandy Changi Beach Park ahead.

The foods are westernized style with pastas, burgers, soup, fried finger foods.

Ordered their new Canopy laksa pasta, beef burger, mushroom cream soup, crispy chicken and refreshing lychee peach frost.

From the Civil Service Club, walk about 5-10 minutes to the nearby Changi Beach and Changi Sailing Club for some night strolling and scenery. And you can head up to Changi Point Coastal Walk (i.e. Changi Broadwalk) as well, though the place at night time is quite dark, you can still take a few night photos with the calm sea. Just nice that we are able to see the beautiful full moon and it's reflection on the sea. This is about a 2km walk.

Lastly, we walked back to Changi Village Hawker Centre and boarded the bus back home.

... Read moreFrom my own experience walking the Pasir Ris Mangrove Broadwalk to Changi Village, I can say it’s a refreshing escape into nature without leaving the city. The Mangrove Broadwalk itself is about 1.4km long, and the wooden pathways wind through lush mangrove roots and branches, making it an ideal spot for birdwatching and photography. One highlight I enjoyed was spotting the Mud Lobster Mounds popping up along the swamping grounds—these little natural formations add a playful, unexpected element to the walk. After the mangrove area, the route continues along a longer stretch passing through Downtown East and the Loyang Industrial Estate area. Although the walk covers about 7km here, the mix of urban and natural scenes keeps it interesting. I appreciated the peaceful moments alongside Loyang Ave PCN and the gradual approach to Changi Village, a vibrant seaside neighborhood. The walk ended nicely at the Civil Service Club @ Changi where Canopy Restaurant offers a lovely stop. The spacious setting with oceanic decor sets a relaxing vibe, and the view of Changi Beach Park through the windows is quite calming. Trying their Canopy laksa pasta was a delightful fusion twist, and the selection of Western-style dishes was broad enough to please different tastes. As evening approaches, a short walk to Changi Beach and the nearby Sailing Club offers a peaceful atmosphere for a night stroll. The Changi Point Coastal Walk, or Changi Broadwalk, adds another 2km of scenic coastline to explore, with the calm sea and moonlit reflections creating a serene ambience. Just be mindful that some parts are darker at night, so a flashlight is useful. This trail sequence combines nature, art, food, and coastal beauty making it a comprehensive day out. The diverse sights from Pasir Ris Park’s grasslands and birdwatching huts to the urban-industrial landscape and finally the tranquil sea views show why this 11km walk appeals to both casual walkers and outdoor enthusiasts looking for a fulfilling outing in Singapore.

Usually I have been jogging past the north-east park without stopping to slowly admire the surrounding nature and greenery. Had done the 8km walk into the nature for near to a 2 hours duration. Passing by an area whereby I jog past it every time, it will remind me of the Arashiyama Bamboo forest
