i always quickly answer ‘3 under 3’. because that’s our every day reality right now. but what i don’t always say is that we also have our sweet boy, clay. we met him far too early at 5 months, and he didn’t get to stay. so when i’m asked, it stings. sometimes i say 4, sometimes i say 3, sometimes i avoid the question completely. grief is complicated like that. i just hope clay knows he’ll always be counted in my heart, even if my words get stuck 👼🏼
