Day 64 of Running in Jesus Name (not a runner)
Continuing a running journey inspired by faith offers a unique blend of physical endurance and spiritual growth. Though I’m not a runner by nature, dedicating each step to Jesus has profoundly shifted my mindset. The verse from Colossians 3:2, "Set your hearts on things above, not on earthly things," resonates deeply, reminding me to prioritize spiritual treasures over worldly distractions. When I started, the challenges of consistent workouts often mirrored struggles in faith—moments of doubt, fatigue, and questioning purpose. Yet keeping a focus on God’s love and the idea that "Your love oh Lord, is better than life" (Psalm) fueled my perseverance. Even when progress seemed slow or broken equipment disrupted filming, the journey itself became an act of worship and trust. This experience also highlighted the truth that love and service to God are not transactional. True devotion means continuing to give and trust even when outcomes are unseen. It’s easy to treat God as a servant to our needs, but spiritual growth requires being His servant, embracing trials that deepen love and faith. For anyone considering blending fitness with faith, this approach builds resilience beyond the physical. It cultivates a mindset where challenges become opportunities for revival and renewal, reminding us that God’s faithfulness endures—even when "He’s seemingly doing nothing." Ultimately, running in Jesus' name is more than exercise—it's a lifestyle of motivation, mindset transformation, and heartfelt devotion that encourages believers to press on, trusting in God’s perfect timing and blessings.
