The Wedding
No soul dared absent .
Shadowfiends lined the obsidian nave. Strong sorcerers drawn from distant realms — some compelled by awe, others by terror of offending their ruthless king. Rulers of the realms sent emissaries. None wished to be remembered as those who failed to bow.
The ceremony was held within an obsidian cathedral carved into the heart of a volcanic mountain — a monument to dominion itself. Rivers of magma glowed through fractures in the black glass floor. Iron chandeliers hung from immense chains. Along the aisle, braziers burned with towering flame, their smoke coiling upward like living serpents.
It was everything Vaelin had ever dreamed.
She entered crowned in winter opulence: a sculpted bone-ivory gown, corseted and threaded with jewels, its cathedral train spilling behind her like pale fire. A mantle of fur draped her shoulders. Blood-drop gems cascaded through her hair beneath a black-gold crown set with amethyst firestone.
At the altar stood her future husband.
Zavion wore a sovereign’s dark academia regalia — a black imperial coat traced in gold filigree sigils, deep red silk beneath, ceremonial boots polished like obsidian. His crown rose in jagged gold spires, shaped like cooled magma.
When Vaelin approached, thunder rolled through the mountain. The cathedral flames surged higher. Every guest stood in perfect unison.
Violet and ember magic began to weave between them — stormfire recognizing stormfire.
They faced one another.
Decephra fell silent.
Zavion:
“I take you, Vaelin of Sephyven — not with power, but with love. Stand beside me, and together kingdoms will kneel.”
Vaelin:
“I rise with you. Let worlds tremble knowing we chose one another. May our future be filled with satisfying joy.”
They cut their palms and pressed their hands together.
Their mingled blood ignited — lifting into a floating sigil of union.
That night, Decephra celebrated the joining of its king and queen.
Two months later, the realm trembled again.
An heir had been conceived.
Across Zavion’s conquered worlds, tributes poured into Decephra. Planets sent relics, beasts, and crowns in anticipation of the child destined to inherit their hellish dominion.
And a new era began.
