delivery apps for extra cash 🤑

1. Doordash dasher

This one is one of my favorite ones to do on free time, but i was on the waitlist for almost 1 1/2 year :(

Pros: you get paid for driving food to people, pay day is every tuesday, and the dash now button allows you to dash without a scheduled time if your area is busy.

Cons: little pay amounts for some orders that are such far places, you have to schedule a dash time that sometimes only lasts 30 min - an hour ( if you’re lucky enough to even make it to an open spot before any other dasher).

2. spark driver

Right up next to doordash it’s one of my most favorites. This app lets you do deliveries for walmart and a couple other stores.

pros: gets paid after every order with ONE banking app, or weekly with branch, order pay varies from $6-$100+ depending on the size of the order, allows you to do spark anytime you’re available, 3% cash back if you use your ONE debit card in store at checkout.

cons: tips take 24 hours to process and customers have those 24 hours to adjust their tips, multiple trips from the car to the house, more spark drivers than deliveries, long sign up process.

3. shipt

super convenient if you have a busy schedule, shipt allows you to click on the times you are available throughout the day and gives you orders during those times, these orders are mostly from target.

pros: convenient scheduling, ease of use, step by step instructions of how to use the app, instant deposit into bank account.

cons: low order pay for large orders.

4. instacart

not my favorite at all, almost all of these are shopping orders from stores like smiths, target, costco, albertsons, etc.

pros: not difficult to work the app at all, payday every thursday, good pay for batches.

cons: sends you an unorganized list of where to find items you’re shopping for (a lot of back and forth if you don’t know a store very well), not allowed to bring non-shoppers with you (friends, family, kids, etc.), super long waitlist, huge orders (sometimes almost impossible) for one human to manage .

These are my 4 top shop and deliver apps for baddies that want to make some extra cash.

... Read moreHey everyone! So glad you're looking into these awesome delivery apps for extra cash. I shared my top picks, but I know starting out can feel a bit overwhelming, especially when you're trying to figure out how to make money fast and ensure it's actually worth your time. From my own experience as a DoorDash Dasher, Spark Driver, Shipt Shopper, and even an Instacart Shopper, I've picked up a few tips and tricks to really maximize your earnings and make these side hustles pay well. First off, don't just sign up for one app! This is probably my biggest tip. While I love DoorDash, there are times when orders are slow. That's where multi-apping comes in. Having accounts with several platforms like Spark Driver and Shipt means you can toggle between them, picking up the best offers and minimizing downtime. Imagine seeing a great Walmart delivery come through on Spark while DoorDash is quiet – you're instantly making money instead of waiting! This strategy really helps boost your hourly rate and makes these apps much more profitable. Another game-changer is understanding your local market. Pay attention to peak hours – usually lunch and dinner rushes, and weekends. That's when demand (and potential earnings!) are highest. Some apps, like DoorDash, have 'hot spots' on their map indicating busy areas. Learning these can significantly increase your order volume. Also, don't be afraid to drive a little further to a busier zone if your current one is dead. A few extra minutes of driving can lead to much better earnings. For my fellow Instacart Shoppers, efficiency is key! Knowing your local grocery stores inside out will save you so much time. I used to wander around, but now I know exactly where everything is, which means faster shopping and more batches completed in a day. Also, communicate with your customers! A quick message about a substitution can prevent a poor rating and potentially lead to a better tip. The same goes for Shipt shoppers – excellent communication and service can make a huge difference. Dealing with waitlists, especially for popular platforms like DoorDash, can be frustrating, I know! I was on one for ages. My advice? Sign up for everything you're interested in *now*, even if you don't plan to start immediately. Some apps have shorter waitlists, and you might get approved for one sooner than expected. In the meantime, explore other local delivery services or even smaller gigs in your area. Persistence pays off! Finally, a quick word on tracking your income and expenses. These are real money-making apps, and that means tax implications. Keep a detailed log of your mileage, gas, and any supplies you buy (like insulated bags). Many apps have built-in trackers, but a separate app or even a simple spreadsheet can be a lifesaver come tax season. This isn't just about making money fast; it's about being smart with your side hustle. Choosing the right app for you really depends on your car, schedule, and even your personality! If you love shopping, Instacart or Shipt might be your jam. If you prefer just driving, DoorDash or Spark Driver could be better. Each app has its quirks, but with a bit of strategy, they can all be fantastic ways to earn some serious extra cash. Happy dashing, sparking, and shopping!
