Nightly bedtime beverage!!

I’ve changed my sleepy bedtime drink a lot over the last 10 months. Mostly simplifying it. I NEED to find a „dupe” for the Cranberry Fizz Poppi because I know it’ll be gone after the holidays.

With my ibs and getting my cycle/hormones back on track, I’ve really been liking using cranberry juice instead of tart cranberry. Also this drink is only around 30-35 calories and tastes so delicious!

Also aren’t my bows cute?!?!

... Read moreI’ve been on a journey to find the perfect calming drink before bed for ages, and I think I've finally found my holy grail sleepy girl mocktail! It’s not just a delicious red bedtime beverage; it’s become an essential part of my winding-down ritual, helping me prepare for a truly restful night. I wanted something that tasted great, was low in calories, and actually delivered on its promise of relaxation, especially with my IBS and hormonal balance in mind. First, let's talk about the magic ingredient: magnesium. I never truly understood the hype around magnesium powder until I started incorporating it into my nightly routine. It’s truly a game-changer for promoting relaxation! Magnesium helps calm your nervous system, can ease muscle tension, and even supports healthy sleep cycles. For someone like me who sometimes struggles to fully unwind after a busy day, a scoop of magnesium powder in my drink makes a noticeable difference. It’s like a gentle signal to my body that it’s time to switch off and drift into peaceful sleep. Then there's the unsweetened cranberry juice. When I initially swapped out tart cranberry for its unsweetened counterpart, it was primarily because the tart varieties sometimes upset my sensitive stomach. But I've discovered so many other benefits! Not only does it provide a delightful, slightly tangy base for my bedtime beverage, but unsweetened cranberry juice is also packed with antioxidants. While it's famously known for urinary tract health, I find it less acidic and much more soothing than tart juice, which has been particularly beneficial for keeping my gut happy and balancing my cycle and hormones. It’s a wonderful, hydrating component that feels good going down. And what about that Cranberry Fizz Poppi? Oh, how I love it, but it’s often seasonal or hard to find, and sometimes I just want to create that bubbly goodness myself! My mission was to craft a ‘dupe’ that captures that delightful cranberry fizz and adds a little gut-friendly perk without relying on a specific brand. I’ve found that combining my unsweetened cranberry juice with some sparkling water (or even a gut-friendly soda like Olipop if you have it on hand) gets me pretty close to that effervescent experience. The key is to choose a sparkling water that isn't too overpowering in flavor, allowing the cranberry to shine. The fizz adds such a fun, festive touch to this calming bedtime drink, making it feel like a real treat. Creating this sleepy time cocktail is more than just mixing ingredients; it’s about the ritual. For me, it’s about pouring my concoction into a nice glass with ice and a straw, maybe even adding a little garnish that makes me smile. It’s a beautiful, so tasty! drink that signals to my body that it's time to wind down. This isn't just a low-calorie treat; it's a powerful blend that supports my sleep, gut health, and hormonal balance. While many people swear by tart cherry juice for sleep due to its natural melatonin, I’ve personally found that unsweetened cranberry juice is a gentler and equally effective choice for my ‘bedtime beverage’, especially given my sensitive stomach. Finding what works best for your body is always the most important thing! Give this magnesium bedtime drink a try – it might just become your new favorite nightly ritual too!
