How I make my to do lists
Hey guys!
This is my first post here on lemon8 and I wanted it to be something that has helped me get important tasks done.
With my adhd, sometimes the simplest of tasks can fill me with absolute dread. Especially if it's something I KNOW I need to get done but really just don't want to.
Now this is a method that works for me because I love colorful anything! (please drop other ideas below and let's help each other out!)
1. I use different VIBRANT colors to bring my attention to the page in a positive way. Basically making the page look fun and pretty makes it seem less daunting to look at.
2. Personally I like to use the colors in rainbow order or grab specific colors to make a theme! Be sure to keep the colors organize in a way that makes the most sense to you so you don't get confused or overwhelmed looking at the page.
3. BREAK DOWN TASKS if you look at the last photo you can see each big task is highlighted to show the change to different sections. Then each section is broken down into more manageable tasks. This helps me feel less overwhelmed by larger tasks. I can take each small task at my own pace.
4. I like using Xs over the little circles next to each small task then a line through the big task to signify it's been done! That final cross off of the big task feels so rewarding.
5. Don't stress if you can't finish the whole list. You should be proud of yourself for finishing what you can. Put the list in an area you know you will see it through out the day/week/month so you can do the list as you go through your day/week/month.
If you have any tips about the format of this post plz let me know I'd love to make more 🫶
