grocery lists for hormonal imbalances

here are symptoms of each hormonal imbalance:

• high estrogen: heavy periods, weight gain, water retention, mood changes, weight gain, fatigue, low sex drive, anxiety, increased pms symptoms

• low estrogen: irregular cycles, low mood, low energy, dry skin, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, breast tenderness, hair loss

• high progesterone: breast swelling & tenderness, bloating, anxiety, fatigue, depression, low sex drive, weight gain

• low progesterone: irregular menstrual periods, headaches, difficulty conceiving, mood changes, anxiety or depression, trouble sleeping, hot flashes.

bloating or weight gain

• high testosterone: acne, oily skin, hair loss on scalp but excessive hair growth on body, irritability, infertility

• low testosterone: low sex drive, low energy,

loss of strength and muscle tone, infertility,

irregular menstrual cycle, vaginal dryness, depression or anxiety, thinning hair.

a lot of these symptom overlap so it’s SO important to get blood work done to know where your hormone levels are at!

see a gynecologist if your primary care doctor isn’t well versed in hormones.

Hope this helps!!

... Read moreMaintaining hormonal balance is crucial for overall health, and diet plays a significant role in this process. Here are some food suggestions tailored to specific hormonal imbalances: **High Estrogen:** Incorporate flaxseed into smoothies and chia pudding, and enjoy tofu in bowls or stir-fries. Other beneficial choices include edamame, peaches, garlic, and leafy greens like kale and spinach. **Low Estrogen:** Look for nutrient-rich options such as dark chocolate, crimini mushrooms, and flaxseed. Eggs, Greek yogurt, and fatty fish like salmon provide essential fatty acids that can help. Also, consider fermented foods like kefir or sauerkraut for gut health. **High Progesterone:** For potential management, focus on foods that might balance hormones like flaxseed, sesame seeds, cherries, and fermented items. Additionally, fatty fish and seeds can provide necessary omega-3s. **Low Progesterone:** Foods such as bananas, avocados, and sweet potatoes can support hormone levels. Quinoa and pumpkin seeds add valuable nutrients as well, while B vitamins and magnesium supplements may be helpful. **High Testosterone:** Nut options like walnuts and almonds are beneficial, as are soy products like tofu. Herbal options like mint tea and cinnamon can support hormonal health too. **Low Testosterone:** Include eggs, bananas, and fatty fish like salmon in your diet. Spinach, broccoli, and various berries also provide essential vitamins and antioxidants. Supplements like vitamin D and zinc may help further. Consulting with healthcare professionals for personalized advice, especially for severe imbalances, is highly encouraged to ensure appropriate management.
