Chuen, Oxlahun, Cauac
As the gears in the cosmic calendar turn and churn the fabric of time and space, we enter Chuen, the sacred monkey 🐒, as our Sun 🌞 rises into the thirteenth day, Oxlajun, of the Cauac trecena.
In Maya cosmology, Chuen is the weaver of time, the artist of life, and the playful trickster who reminds us that creativity is sacred. It is the energy of joy, laughter, and divine mischief, showing that the universe is both intelligent and playful. Monkey energy teaches us to approach life with curiosity, humor, and flexibility, for laughter itself is a medicine that heals the soul and unbinds the heart.
The Monkey as nahual embodies artistry and the ability to weave together the strands of past, present, and future. It reminds us that our lives are a creation, a living tapestry of choice and chance, and that joy is a spiritual tool for navigating the storms of existence.
Oxlajun – The Number Thirteen
In Yucatec, Oxlajun is the number of transcendence and divine connection. Thirteen is the culmination of the trecena, where human effort meets spiritual completion. It opens the channel to cosmic consciousness and the guidance of ancestors, asking us to see life from a higher perspective.
Guardian of the 13th Day
The deity associated with this day is Ometeotl, the dual god of creation and balance, the primordial unity of masculine and feminine energies. As guardian of the thirteenth day within the Cauac trecena, Ometeotl brings harmony to the playful energy of Chuen, ensuring that creativity aligns with cosmic order and serves the greater flow of life.
The cosmic date is Oxlajun (13), the day sign is Chuen, within the Cauac trecena. In Gregorian terms, this corresponds to August 6, 2025.
Again I ask: What would the OG Daykeepers advise today as the energies of the Cauac trecena rise to their playful peak in Chuen and the transcendent vibration of Oxlajun?
Today’s convergence is a dance of laughter, art, and divine perspective. 🎨🐒 Let the Monkey remind you to create joy in your path, to weave your life with intention and humor. Let Ometeotl guide your playfulness into balance, so that what you create today echoes into eternity. And under the eternal Sun 🌞, remember that joy is not a distraction—it is the essence of the divine made alive in you. 🌿💫
Reflection of the Day
Today, under the vibrant current of Chuen and the culminating Oxlahun tone of the Cauac trecena, we are called to reflect on the sacred art of creation through joy, humor, and divine play. Monkey, the artisan of the cosmos, reminds us that healing doesn’t always come through solemnity, sometimes it comes through laughter, rhythm, and shared experience. The storm energy of Cauac has been pushing us to purify and transform, and now, as we reach the 13th tone, we integrate all the lessons of this cycle into the wisdom of the heart.
My journey with psychedelics began in the warehouses and undergrounds of Los Angeles, long before I understood the ancestral echoes we were tapping into. What we were doing wasn’t just partying… it was remembering. We were enacting rites of passage that mirrored the sacred initiations of ancient cultures. In those chaotic, euphoric spaces, I found music, community, and a glimpse of something greater. The sound of Gabber, Jungle, and Hard Trance became the pulse of my own awakening, the distorted, rapid heartbeats of a soul trying to find its rhythm in a chaotic world.
Through pain, I found the path inward. A back injury led me to mushrooms… and mushrooms led me to my ancestors. I began to remember the old ways, the sacredness of fire, the language of dreams, and the wisdom encoded in nature. My journey expanded with Ketamine, DMT, and integration with the sciences. I connected with brilliant minds like Dr. Brad Adams and the LAMPS community, where the psychedelic and academic merge in mutual reverence.
Today, Chuen reminds me that through all the discipline, transformation, and purification… we must remember to play. We must remember to dance, to laugh, to make music, to share joy, because creation isn’t just about survival, it’s about thriving in our authenticity. Life has come full circle, and I find myself playing again, not just behind the decks but in service to the community that first planted the seed of magic in my soul.
The veil is thinning. Love is rising. And the children of PLUR, those who still trade Kandi under lasers and stars, are now sprouting worlds of their own. This is sacred reciprocity. This is ancestral memory reborn in basslines and breathwork. I’m honored to still be part of it, co-creating spaces of healing and celebration with LAMPS and beyond.
We don't fear the flames... we are the fire.
