Thinking about doing a small run of these taller 7-gallon buckets for local anglers and wanted to see what everybody thinks before I place an order.
These are roughly 20.4” tall with the lid on, compared to a standard 5-gallon bucket that’s usually around 14–15” tall. So you gain about 5–6 inches in height.
A couple buddies that fish the docks at Smithville really like the taller setup because:
🎣 Easier to sit on all day
🎣 Easier getting up and down
🎣 More storage space
🎣 Lid included
🎣 Works great for dock fishing, bank fishing, catfishing, etc.
I’d add one of my large Junior’s Jigs decals to them as well.
I’ll probably have right at $15 in them each, before shipping, but I’d have to order a minimum quantity since there’s nowhere local I’ve found to buy these. Shipping them probably wouldn’t make much sense, so this would mainly be for local pickup around the Gower/Smithville area.
Would anybody actually be interested in one of these?
And what would you realistically expect to pay for one with a lid and Junior’s Jigs sticker on it?

... Read moreHaving tested various bucket sizes for fishing, I can attest that taller 7-gallon buckets significantly improve the fishing experience. The extra 5 to 6 inches in height compared to standard 5-gallon buckets makes sitting much more comfortable throughout long fishing sessions, reducing back strain and making it easier to stand or move around.
The added storage space inside is a game-changer, especially for storing tackle, bait, or even your catch securely. The lid is a practical addition, keeping everything protected from the elements and preventing spills, which is especially helpful when fishing from docks or shorelines where space is limited.
In my experience fishing at spots like Smithville, having a sturdy, reliable bucket that doubles as a seat is invaluable. The custom Junior's Jigs decal not only adds a personalized touch but also provides an opportunity for community connection among local anglers.
While shipping costs might limit sales to local pickup areas, the value these buckets offer—hands-on built quality, functionality, and local support—makes the $15 price point (before shipping) quite reasonable. For anglers seeking a durable, comfortable, and branded bucket for catfishing or any waterside fishing, these taller 7-gallon buckets are worth considering for their blend of practicality and style.
