You have not LIVED until you have eaten homemade fudge on Mackinac Island!! I grew up visiting this island in the summers, and let me tell you…it’s MAGICAL!
Mackinac Island is full of charm, beauty, and unique things to do! My favorite thing about Mac Island is that it is a car free island - if you need to get anywhere you will have to walk, ride a bike, or take a horse drawn carriage! Having no cars on the island makes it feel SO much more relaxed!
Here are some of my favorite things to do on Mackinac Island:
🐴Explore by Bicycle or Carriage: With no cars allowed, rent a bicycle or take a horse-drawn carriage to explore the island's scenic beauty and historic sites.
🐴Visit Fort Mackinac: Step back in time at this well-preserved fort and museum. Enjoy live demonstrations, historic reenactments, and stunning views of the island and Lake Huron.
🐴Hike Mackinac Island State Park: With over 70 miles of trails, the park offers breathtaking views, serene forests, and beautiful shoreline vistas. Don't miss Arch Rock and Sugar Loaf.
🐴Indulge in Fudge: Mackinac Island is famous for its delicious fudge. Sample a variety of flavors at the island's numerous fudge shops.

🐴Visit the Grand Hotel: the Grand Hotel is a historical icon, hosting guests since 1887. The grounds and hotel are BEAUTIFUL! If you can’t afford to stay there, I highly recommend visiting for lunch, dinner, or an afternoon lemonade on their huge porch filled with rocking chairs!
🐴Visit Mackinac Island Butterfly House: Walk among hundreds of live butterflies in a tropical garden setting. It's a magical experience for visitors of all ages.
