COUNTRY IN EUROPE WHERE YOUR MONEY WILL GO FAR!

Hear me out…Albania is one of the most underrated countries in Europe!! There is SO much to love about Albania! Beautiful nature, INSANELY blue water, gorgeous beaches, charming old towns, delicious cuisine, friendly locals, a dark (and interesting) history, and most importantly - it’s SO AFFORDABLE!

There are an abundance of apartment rentals, ranging from $50-$100 a night. But they also have some nice luxury hotels, if you travel on the higher end!

The Albanian riviera has some of the most turquoise water and stunning beaches, similar to those of Italy, Greece, or the Caribbean! You absolutely need to put this trip on your bucket list!

Here is how I would put together a trip to Albania:

*Fly into the capital: Tirana

-Explore the vibrant city center, visit Skanderbeg Square, and take a stroll through the colorful streets

-Enjoy a traditional Albanian dinner at one of the local restaurants

*Tirana to Vlore*

-Travel to Vlorë, a coastal city known for its beautiful beaches.

-Spend the day relaxing on the beaches of Vlorë, such as Plazhi i Ri or Radhimë Beach.

-Visit the Independence Monument and the Muradie Mosque.

-Enjoy fresh seafood for dinner at a seaside restaurant.

*Vlore to Dhermi*

-Drive or take a bus from Tirana to Dhermi, a beautiful coastal village on the Albanian Riviera

-Spend the day relaxing on the stunning beaches of Dhermi, such as Gjipe Beach or Dhermi Beach

-Explore the nearby Llogara Pass for breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea and the surrounding mountains

-Overnight stay in Dhermi

*Dhermi to Ksamil*

-Spend the day exploring Ksamil, a coastal village known for its stunning beaches and clear turquoise waters.

-Relax on the beaches of Ksamil, which are often compared to those of the Caribbean.

-Visit the nearby islands of Ksamil Islands and explore their pristine beaches and underwater caves.

-Enjoy seafood dinner at a beachside restaurant in Ksamil.

*Ksamil to Gjirokaster*

-Drive to Gjirokaster, a charming Ottoman town known for its well-preserved architecture

-Explore the historic Gjirokaster Castle and its fascinating museum

-Wander through the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town and admire the traditional stone houses

-Optional: Visit the Blue Eye, a natural spring with stunning turquoise waters, on your way to Gjirokaster

-Overnight stay in Gjirokaster

*Gjirokaster to Berat*

-Travel to Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its white Ottoman houses

-Explore the ancient Berat Castle and enjoy panoramic views of the city and the Osum River

-Wander through the old town and visit the Onufri Museum to see its impressive collection of religious art

-Relax by the Osum River and enjoy a traditional Albanian meal at a local restaurant

-Overnight stay in Berat

*Berat to Tirana*

-Drive back to Tirana for your departure

... Read moreAlbania, often overshadowed by its European counterparts, has emerged as a top choice for travelers seeking an affordable yet enriching destination. Its vibrant capital, Tirana, buzzes with life and culture, showcasing colorful buildings and lively cafes. A visit to Skanderbeg Square is a must, where you can immerse yourself in local history and ambiance. The Albanian Riviera stands out with its breathtaking beaches. Places like Dhermi and Ksamil not only boast crystal-clear waters reminiscent of the Caribbean but also attract fewer tourists, allowing for a more relaxed experience. Venturing to Vlorë, travelers can indulge in delicious seafood while enjoying stunning sunset views. For those interested in history, a trip to Gjirokaster unveils fascinating Ottoman architecture, while Berat offers a glimpse into ancient traditions with its UNESCO World Heritage status. Don't miss the natural beauty of the Blue Eye spring, a stunning site perfect for an afternoon excursion. Renting an apartment can be incredibly affordable, often ranging from $50 to $100 a night. For a touch of luxury, there are beautiful hotels along the coast. Simply put, Albania offers not just a rich travel experience but also exceptional value for money. Your next European adventure awaits in this captivating country that will surely exceed your expectations!
