💭Thoughts:
Went into it not expecting much but it got me tearing and heart-aching by the end. The storyline is not that special but the acting was superb🌟 The slow development and intensity of the love between Jeha and Daeum were felt through the actors. You are not just watching the story unfold, but feeling it through their subtle changes in expressions, the way they interact with each other. The bitterness of the love between them when you know the ending will be tragic. There was no real villain character except the cancer itself.
I felt the side plots/love stories were a bit redundant... but to each their own. Also... major applause for the 2nd female lead love her! Her character was one of my favourites throughout the series. She stood strong in her views and she was caring and tough at the same time.
By episodes 11 & 12 I was tearing up every few scenes. You can see how each character wanted to be strong in front of Daeum, but are silently crying their hearts out. Honestly... that's how I felt when someone close passed away due to cancer... The way Daeum wanted to leave a positive impact and wanted people not to feel sad but to live happily after her death... reminds me of a similar experience. The way the drama handles the sensitive topic so maturely and beautifully pulled some of my heartstrings.
It is one of the better dramas I've watched this year... and I highly recommend it. Cinematic scenes, superb acting and a beautiful soundtrack, what more can you ask for? Prepare some tissues and enjoy this masterpiece!
rating: 9/10 (cause there's always room for improvement)
