This post is dedicated and to answer questions about being a single mom in the military. Here’s a few tips and tricks on how I manage life:
1. Befriend other moms! ( this will help you in the long run if you were to join the navy and be deployed mothers stick together and I am grateful for them )
2. Never bring work stress home. ( earlier when I had my child I would do so and it cause a toxic household. I learned to decompress in the car before entering my house )
3. Get out! ( yes being a single parent sucks but it’ll suck more if you’re entire life is just focus on being a parent and not actually taking care of yourself )
4. Plan ahead! ( deployments can happen, I’ve been on two and never has my child ever had to question where I was or actually she didn’t care lol she was busy living her best life until I came back, of course I brought gifts home )
5. It’s stability ( in this economy the military definitely is a buffer and I’ve never had to worry about not getting a paycheck )
I had my daughter while I was serving and quite honestly I’m glad I did but even if you’re thinking of doing it I say do it. Love this! My sister is in boot camp right now for the Navy and my 2yr old niece is definitely starting to realize that my sister is away. My sister struggled the first two weeks at boot camp but I’m definitely going to share this with her in my next letter.
