my biggest tip for colored pencils, is, start with really light pressure and build up layers slowly rather than pressing hard right away!! I was taught that years ago in my AP art class back in high school. I'm impatient so it's difficult to achieve sometimes but it does pay off!! I think you're doing really well :3
