in my emotions today.

it breaks my heart to see that this is the house the American people gave them to live in due to the fact that they were illegal immigrants from Cuba, and seeing the illegal immigrants today get everything for free without having any citizenship which my great grandparents were denied cause they were illegal Immigrants from Cuba its also sad how the democratic party claims to be for illegal immigrants when my great grandparents came over here they were mistreated and the president was a Democrat the time they came here I was like 4 and that president was Clinton. so it's sad how they got treated, my grandpa came here with a work visa and he married my grandmother and they did everything right so my grandpa can get his citizenship, but when Clinton was president and the Florida's government didn't even offer to help them cause they were illegal immigrants but today's illegals live like royalty due to the government, I don't understand why the Democrats claim to be for immigrants when they were the ones who acted like they didn't need anything from them under Clinton this is the stuff the media is not talking about. Also in 2009 my Great grandmother passed away and Obama had my great grandfather deported back to Cuba at the age of 82. Where he died in Cuba and he wasn't allowed to be buried next to my great grandmother due to the fact Obama Deported him back to Cuba in 2010 this is the truth about my Great grandparents. I'm proud to be half white, half eastern Tennessee Choctaw and Cuban. If no one is illegal on stolen land how come they got mistreated by Clinton and Florida's Democratic government and then in 2010 my great grandpa was reported back to Cuba under Obama and my great grandpa wasn't allowed to be buried next to my Great grandmother due to the deportation and he died 2 months after being sent back to Cuba. I'm disgusted by the Democratic party for claiming to be for the illegals and claiming no one is illegal on stolen land when they did this to my great grandparents, and all these illegals today are getting nice homes free healthcare but my great grandparents didn't get any of this it's just sad how it's only good for some illegals and not all since they claim to be for the illegals.

... Read moreSharing my own reflections on immigration, I’ve noticed that policies and public perception around this issue often feel inconsistent and deeply personal. Like the author, I have seen how families who came through legal channels and abided by the rules sometimes face harsh treatment, while others may receive different benefits depending on the current political climate. This contrast is striking when looking at historical immigration cases. For example, many Cuban immigrants in earlier decades endured significant hardships, discrimination, and even deportation, despite their efforts to integrate legally. The experience described with the involvement of former presidents Clinton and Obama underscores how immigration enforcement is often influenced by political agendas rather than uniform fairness. It’s painful to realize that family separations and deportations not only break up families but also deny people the dignity of resting beside their loved ones, as was the case with the author’s great-grandfather. These personal stories reveal the human cost behind immigration policies commonly debated in political arenas. In my own community, I’ve seen how the narrative around immigrants continues to shift. Some people receive generous social support and healthcare, while others struggle for basic recognition. The discussion about “no one being illegal on stolen land” brings forward complex questions about nationality, history, and belonging. However, the lived experience of immigrants often doesn’t match idealistic slogans. Ultimately, understanding these stories helps to remind us that immigration issues are more than politics—they are about real people’s lives and dreams. Recognizing the nuanced history and contemporary realities can help foster more empathy and informed dialogue when considering immigration reform and how we support diverse communities in America today.
