Injectable healing varies for everyone but usually it’s recommended to get them done at least 2 weeks before any major event in case there’s swelling or bruising. Speaking of which, I’m amazed by my lack of bruising — it’s usually much more with me, I bruise like crazy!
I felt a little funny - like certain parts of my face were stretched - for the first 24 hours or so and slightly uncomfortable once the nerve block wore off but other than that, it was business as usual. The worst part for me was sleeping upright! I usually sleep on my face, which would not have been good haha.
Let me know if you have questions. And once again, thank you Dr. Wise! Very lucky to work for such a talented facial plastic surgeon. Thanks for making my face look and feel more balanced! #kaididey #facialbalancing #healingjourney #drwise #newjersey @Dr. Jeffrey B. Wise
Undergoing facial filler treatments is an exciting step towards enhancing your natural beauty, but the healing process is just as important to ensure the best results. Based on my personal experience, I found that recovery times and effects can vary widely from one person to another, so it’s crucial to plan your treatment at least two weeks prior to any significant event to allow potential swelling or bruising to subside. One of the surprises for me was how minimal my bruising turned out, especially since I typically bruise easily. This could be influenced by factors such as the injector’s skill, type of filler used, and individual skin sensitivity. I highly recommend discussing your medical history and concerns with your practitioner beforehand. During the first 24 hours, I felt a slight stretching sensation in some areas of my face, along with minor discomfort as the nerve block wore off. While these sensations weren’t severe, it was important to take it easy and avoid strenuous activities. A common challenge I faced was sleeping upright to avoid putting pressure on treated areas, which can be uncomfortable if you’re used to sleeping on your face like I do. Practicing good aftercare is key—keeping the skin clean, avoiding excessive sun exposure, and refraining from applying makeup for at least 24 hours. Staying hydrated and maintaining a healthy diet can also support the healing process. Working with an experienced facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Wise made a big difference, as his expertise ensured my face looked balanced and natural post-treatment. If you’re considering fillers, ask your provider about their recommendations for timing, swelling management, and any personal care tips based on your unique skin type. Remember, each person’s healing journey is unique, so patience and proper preparation will help you achieve the most satisfying outcome while minimizing discomfort and downtime.
