My race day fit! #fitcheck
What’s in my race belt/ what I ran with for my 10k!!
Yes I prepare a lot but I used EVERYTHING on me.
What do you pack??
Why do I pack what I pack?
let’s just start from the top, some of this is obvious.
Headphones hat glasses Apple Watch, duh.
But some of the other stuff?
Wipes: these are in case there’s an emergency or a portapotty runs out of toilet paper you do NOT wanna be caught in that situation.
Hand sanitizer same reason! Cleaning your hands after the portapotty. It’s inevitable and multiple people actually asked to have some as well.
Tissue: because I’m pregnant and my nose hasn’t stopped running since I got that positive test. Quite frankly it runs more than I do.
Chap stick and body glide: both to prevent chapping and rubbing in very different areas lol the chub rub is REAL. I’ve been using vaseline however it gave me AWFUL acne between my legs so we’re trying body glide out to see if it works better so far so good!
Phone batter : probably unnecessary for most people however because we film I took it on my race just to make sure we could film everything.
Face glitter: it makes you go faster.
And I think that wraps it up!!!
What do you carry?
Preparing for race day involves more than just choosing the right shoes and apparel; it’s about having a well-thought-out race belt stocked with essentials to handle any situation. From personal experience, packing wipes and hand sanitizer isn’t just a hygiene choice but a necessity since portable toilets can run out of supplies and keeping clean during a race is crucial. For expectant runners or anyone prone to allergies, carrying tissues can make a huge difference, as unexpected runny noses may disrupt your focus and comfort. When it comes to skin protection, I’ve faced the common but painful chafing issue, especially in areas prone to rubbing during runs. While traditional vaseline works for many, it unfortunately caused me breakouts, leading me to try Body Glide – a product designed to prevent chafing while being gentle on sensitive skin. This small change has improved my race day comfort noticeably. An often overlooked item is an extra phone battery or portable charger. If you like to document your race journey or stay connected during the event, having backup power prevents any mid-run tech failures. And if you want to add a little fun and personality, face glitter, as quirky as it sounds, can boost your morale and give a playful edge to your race day outfit. Finally, headphones, a hat, and sunglasses protect against external distractions, sun, and noise, helping you maintain focus and rhythm. Keeping an Apple Watch or fitness tracker handy allows for tracking your pace and splits, which is motivating and essential for many runners. Having a packed race belt tailored to your specific needs ensures you’re ready for anything during those crucial race moments. I love hearing what others carry – do you have any must-bring items or hacks for race day packing?
