Surprising food combo to make cinnamon roll bites!

Yup! Greek yogurt and self rising flour! A lot of people use this to make higher protein versions of biscuits, pizza dough, etc. so I tho if they why not cinnamon roll bites?? Greek yogurt not only helps keep blood sugar balanced but also helps add protein to a treat that would otherwise be mostly carbs and sugar. I did use homemade cream cheese frosting because I had made some for a different recipe however I know people use just a regular mix of cinnamon sugar, powder sugar and milk to make an easy frosting drizzle. Or to cut on cal a sugar substitute like swerve powdered sugar and milk!

Any way you make it, it’s sure to be delicious!!!

... Read moreWhen I first tried making cinnamon roll bites with Greek yogurt and self-rising flour, I was pleasantly surprised by how simple yet satisfying they were. Greek yogurt adds a creamy texture and protein boost, making these bites a smart choice if you're looking to enjoy a tasty treat without the usual sugar crash. The self-rising flour makes the dough rise beautifully without any extra effort, which means less prep time and more enjoyment. I experimented with different frostings — the classic cream cheese frosting is rich and complements the cinnamon perfectly. However, for a lower-calorie option, I used a quick drizzle made from powdered sugar (or a sugar substitute like Swerve) mixed with a bit of milk. This lighter frosting still offers sweetness without overpowering the protein-packed base. These cinnamon roll bites are also incredibly versatile. I've used them as a protein-rich breakfast during busy mornings when I need fuel to keep me going, and they make a delightful mid-afternoon snack paired with a cup of coffee or tea. Baking them at 350°F for about 30-35 minutes ensures they’re cooked through but still soft inside. Rolling the dough balls in brown sugar and cinnamon before baking adds an extra layer of flavor and a bit of a caramelized crust. One tip I found useful is portion control — since these bites are denser than regular cinnamon rolls, eating one or two with a serving of fruit can make for a balanced and satisfying snack without overdoing the calories or carbs. Overall, this surprising food combo offers a healthy spin on a classic favorite, ideal for anyone looking to increase protein intake without sacrificing flavor. If you're into experimenting in the kitchen, it's definitely worth a try to tweak the cinnamon and sugar ratios or try adding nuts or raisins for additional texture and nutrition.
