College🎓: Let’s talk juggling life. 😅

Hi all! I am currently enrolled in SNHU to earn my bachelor’s degree in the Accounting field. I am currently taking Microeconomics and Applied Humanities.

I struggle greatly to juggle work, being a mom, giving 50% to my relationship, and just to be myself. Finding balance isn’t easy and so far it has been something I CANNOT seem to do. I know everyone says to take time for yourself, set boundaries, make a schedule.

But here’s the thing, LIFE DOESN’T RUN ON YOUR SCHEDULE. Yes, you can plan. You can time manage. But ultimately, life doesn’t run on your schedule. You have hiccups, unexpected adventures, sickness, and a host of other things.

I have tried many things and none have helped in the long run or it was too much to keep up with. I need help!

What is something that YOU have done that has helped you manage your busy life? How do you juggle everything?

... Read moreBalancing college life with other responsibilities can be daunting. Many students, like you, face challenges in managing time effectively. Here are some strategies to help you navigate through your busy schedule: 1. **Set Realistic Expectations**: Understand that it’s okay not to do everything perfectly. Prioritize tasks based on deadlines and significance. 2. **Time Blocking**: Allocate specific time slots for work, study, family, and self-care. This structured approach can help minimize distractions and improve focus. 3. **Utilize Tools and Apps**: Incorporate scheduling tools or apps to manage tasks and reminders effectively. They can assist in reducing the stress of forgetting important deadlines. 4. **Communicate Openly**: Share your challenges with your family or significant other. Open communication can lead to better understanding and support from loved ones. 5. **Seek Help When Needed**: Don't hesitate to reach out for support from friends, academic advisors, or even online communities. They can provide valuable advice and encouragement. 6. **Practice Self-Care**: Remember to prioritize your mental and physical well-being. Small breaks and downtime are essential to prevent burnout. 7. **Join Supportive Networks**: Participate in student organizations or groups that cater to mature students. Engaging with peers who share similar struggles can offer emotional support and helpful advice. Implementing these strategies can empower you to create a more balanced life, making your educational journey more enjoyable and less overwhelming.

I had to figure out and juggle my schedule until it worked. I went to college full time, had a full and part time job, and still had other responsibilities at home while pursuing my bachelors degree in early childhood education.
