can’t believe it took me this long to edit this video. 😅 There was still snow on the mountains when we filmed this.
Things got a little busy once planting season actually started, but I’m finally catching up on my Cottagecore Dream Backyard series. 🌿
For this trip, we wandered through the prettiest nursery and came home with a lilac bush, a hydrangea, and a rose bush. Not a huge haul, but it was the day the vision really started coming together in my head.
Episode 6 is already in the works. 🌸🦋✨
Transforming a backyard into a peaceful Cottagecore haven really takes time and patience, as I’ve learned while working on this project. When I first visited the nursery, the snow was still softly covering the mountains nearby, which reminded me how gardening is deeply tied to the changing seasons. Selecting plants like the lilac, hydrangea, and rose bush wasn’t just about adding color—it was about cultivating a space that feels alive and personal. I’ve found that visiting a local nursery can spark new ideas for a garden’s layout and plant combinations. Each plant has its own needs—sunlight, soil type, watering schedule—which means creating harmonious neighbors in your garden requires a bit of planning and love. For example, lilacs thrive in full sun and well-drained soil, while hydrangeas appreciate morning sun and afternoon shade. One piece of advice I’d give to anyone starting their own backyard transformation is to allow your vision to evolve naturally. Don’t rush the process. As the planting season progresses, you'll notice your space taking on a life of its own. Recording your journey, even through simple videos, helps capture those small but meaningful changes, making it rewarding to look back and see how far you’ve come. Finally, don’t hesitate to share your progress with others who enjoy garden projects and backyard transformations. Engaging with related communities, whether through #gardenproject or #gardentok hashtags, is a wonderful way to exchange tips and get inspired. Whether it’s Episode 6 or the next step in your Cottagecore dream backyard, every moment of creation is worth celebrating.
