pov : pressing flowers in an old book 📖

There's something incredibly special about pairing simple, mindful activities with the perfect soundtrack. For me, that's often pressing flowers in an old book, a small ritual that feels like holding onto a quiet moment. It's not just about preserving a beautiful pressed, dried flower; it's about capturing a feeling, a memory, a season. And what better way to do that than with a carefully curated playlist? When I put together my recent ‘February feels’ playlist, I wanted songs that echoed that quiet goodbye to winter, the soft light, and the gentle transition into spring. Chappell Roan's 'Love Me Anyway' immediately came to mind. Her unique blend of pop and introspection has this way of hitting just right, making you feel seen in your most reflective moments. The song’s lyrical depth and slightly melancholic yet hopeful melody perfectly align with the sentiment of watching winter softly fade, much like how a pressed flower holds its beauty even after its vibrant season has passed. It's a track that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the present, whether you're carefully arranging petals or simply gazing out the window. Beyond Chappell Roan, the other songs on my playlist, like 'Habe - Head Down' and 'Flipturn - August,' each bring their own texture to this theme. They contribute to a 'playlist for you' that evokes a sense of calm and nostalgia, creating an atmosphere where time seems to slow. If you're someone who appreciates the dreamy, atmospheric sound of these artists, you might also find yourself drawn to the ethereal soundscapes of artists like Melody Foxxe. While not on this specific playlist, her music often carries a similar introspective and often whimsical quality that complements moments of quiet contemplation, making her a wonderful artist to explore if you're looking to expand your collection of 'in-between season' tunes. Creating a playlist for these moments isn't just about background noise; it's about enhancing the experience. It's about letting the music guide your thoughts, allowing you to fully appreciate the delicate beauty of a pressed, dried flower or the subtle shift in the air. So, next time you're embarking on a peaceful activity, whether it's pressing flowers, journaling, or just enjoying a cup of tea, consider curating your own 'playlist ideas' that resonate with your mood. You'll find that the right songs can transform a simple moment into a cherished memory.
