So hard to process

3 days agoEdited to

... Read moreTransitioning from high school to college is truly a journey filled with a whirlwind of emotions. I remember facing the reality of "No more prom/hoco, No more FNL, No finals graduation going to college," and it felt overwhelming. The excitement of moving forward was often mixed with a deep sense of loss for the familiar traditions and milestones that marked the end of my high school experience. One of the hardest parts was accepting that some cherished moments would never come back. The last day of senior year carried a bittersweet feeling; it was a time of nostalgia for everything we were leaving behind, from the spirit of Friday night lights to the camaraderie of finals and graduation events. These aspects shaped so much of our identity, and letting go meant redefining who we were outside of those experiences. Starting freshman year brought its own set of challenges, with unfamiliar faces and a whole new environment to navigate. I found that embracing this fresh start helped me to find new opportunities for growth and friendship. It was essential to stay open-minded and patient with myself during this adjustment period. If you’re feeling the weight of these changes, know that it’s completely normal. Sharing stories with friends, keeping some traditions alive in new ways, and focusing on personal goals can help ease the transition. Remember, every ending paves the way for a new beginning, and while it’s hard to process at times, these moments are part of a valuable growth experience that shapes your future.
