Your SYMPTOMS are MESSAGES 🦋

Your body isn’t broken — it’s begging to be understood.

That bloat, fatigue, anxiety, skin flare, or hormonal chaos?

Not random.

Not a glitch.

Not “just how you are.”

Your symptoms are signals — your body’s language for unmet needs, unprocessed stress, or nourishment you’ve been missing.

But most of us were never taught to listen — we were taught to suppress, ignore, or “push through.”

Here’s how to start decoding the messages:

• Track your symptoms— Start a quick food + symptom journal for 3-5 days. Notice what throws you off and what grounds you.

• Support your basics first — Hydration, blood sugar balance, regular meals, and actual rest go further than you think.

• Nervous system check — Are you eating in a state of rush, tension, or distraction? Shift into rest mode. Your gut (and hormones) need safety to work.

• Ditch symptom shame — Your body’s not overreacting. It’s responding perfectly to what it’s been given.

... Read moreIt’s incredibly frustrating when your body just doesn't feel right, isn't it? That persistent bloat, unshakeable fatigue, sudden anxiety, or mysterious skin flares – for a long time, I considered these 'strange body symptoms' random glitches. But my personal journey has taught me that our bodies are constantly communicating. These aren’t random inconveniences; they are vital messages, signals asking us to pay attention and uncover what our body truly needs. Let’s explore what some of these common symptoms might be telling you, echoing the profound insights I've gathered about tuning in: Cravings: Instead of punishing yourself for wanting that sweet or salty treat, consider that 'Cravings? Your body could be asking for nourishment, not punishment.' It might be a genuine need for specific nutrients or a sign your blood sugar is out of balance. Headaches: Beyond reaching for a quick fix, think deeper. 'Headaches? You might need hydration, blood sugar balance, or rest.' Simple oversight like not drinking enough water or inconsistent meals can often be the culprit. Gut Issues: Bloating, discomfort, or irregular digestion are clear signals from your gut. 'Gut issues? Stress might be louder than your stomach.' Our digestive system is intimately linked to our nervous system, so chronic stress often manifests here. Fatigue: If you're constantly exhausted even after sleep, 'Fatigue? Your body may be asking for more rest, nutrients, or stress relief.' This can point to nutrient deficiencies, a need for deeper restorative sleep, or an overloaded stress response. Brain Fog: Feeling fuzzy, struggling to focus, or having memory lapses? 'Brain fog? You may need more nourishment, hydration, or sleep.' Stable blood sugar, proper hydration, and quality sleep are fundamental for cognitive clarity. Many of us also experience what are sometimes called 'ascension symptoms' – a series of physical, mental, and emotional shifts during periods of spiritual awakening or intense personal growth. While the term might sound mystical, the experience of heightened sensitivity, new physical sensations, or emotional fluctuations perfectly aligns with the idea that 'Symptoms are signals, not setbacks.' Whether you attribute them to spiritual change or just call them 'strange body symptoms,' the core message is the same: your body is adapting, recalibrating, and asking for conscious support. It's not trying to betray you; it's trying to talk to you. So, how do we actually learn to listen? It starts with mindful observation. I found that simply tracking my symptoms in a journal – noting not just what I ate, but also my mood, energy levels, sleep quality, and stress – was incredibly insightful. This helps identify patterns and reveals 'what throws you off and what grounds you.' Supporting your fundamental needs is also crucial. Prioritize consistent, quality hydration throughout the day. Focus on eating regular, balanced meals with protein and healthy fats to stabilize your blood sugar. And truly prioritize rest – not just sleep, but genuine moments of downtime and relaxation. A 'nervous system check' is vital: are you eating in a state of rush or distraction? Shifting into a calm, 'rest and digest' mode is paramount for your gut health and hormonal balance. Ultimately, 'Healing isn't just about food or fitness. It's about listening. Tuning into your body. Understanding your nervous system. Honoring your hormones. Supporting your spirit. You are not broken. You are being asked to pay attention.' By embracing this holistic perspective, we can stop simply reacting to symptoms and start truly understanding and supporting our body’s profound wisdom.
