Things I’m Unlearning In My Twenties

2/26 Edited to

... Read moreIn my twenties, unlearning old habits has been a crucial part of my personal growth journey. One major realization is how perfectionism often masqueraded as high standards, causing unnecessary pressure. I've learned to embrace imperfections and focus on progress rather than flawless outcomes. This shift has significantly reduced my stress and increased my productivity. Another important lesson is rethinking the way I view rest. Previously, I believed rest needed to be earned through exhaustive work, leading to burnout. Now, I understand that rest is essential and non-negotiable for sustained growth and mental health. Trusting my intuition over others' opinions has also been transformative. I used to value outside validation too much, but leaning into my own judgment has empowered me to make decisions that align with my true self. Finally, I've become more aware of the importance of respecting myself and setting boundaries, even if it means disrupting the peace. Accepting disrespect to avoid conflict is something I’m actively unlearning. This mindset change has fostered healthier relationships and boosted my self-esteem. These unlearning experiences are not just challenges but opportunities to build a healthier mindset and better habits that enrich my life overall.

Unhealthy things I am unlearning as a mom 🌸
Being a good mom is my top priority. 1. Punishing emotions. I will not get my daughter in trouble for yelling at me, crying, or anything else. If you were crying and somebody told you you have no reason to be, or that they’ll give you a reason to cry, how would you feel? Worse? 2. Shaming.

Your late 20s are a season of growth, self-reflection, and unlearning the beliefs that no longer serve you. So much of what we were taught—about success, self-worth, and even rest—was shaped by external expectations rather than what truly aligns with us. It takes courage to step back and question t
