If you’re looking for something fun and different!

... Read moreSo, you've been seeing all the buzz about making your own lipstick in NYC and wondering if it's really worth checking out? Let me tell you, it absolutely is! My trip to The Lip Lab Upper East Side was such a unique and memorable experience that I just had to share more details. First off, if you're looking for something different to do in Manhattan, especially on the Upper East Side, this is your sign to custom create something truly your own. It's not just about buying a new lipstick; it's about the entire creative process. When you walk in, you're greeted by a friendly consultant who helps guide you through every step. They start by asking about your preferences – what colors do you usually wear? What kind of finish do you like (matte, satin, glossy)? Do you have any specific shades in mind you've always wanted but could never find? This personalized consultation is key to getting exactly what you want. Then comes the fun part: mixing the pigments! You get to watch as they blend different colors right in front of you, adjusting until it's the perfect hue. It's like being a cosmetic chemist for a day! You can even add special finishes like shimmer or glitter, and choose a scent or flavor. I opted for a subtle vanilla, but they have everything from peppermint to cherry. Once your perfect shade is mixed, they pour it into a mold, let it cool, and then pop it into a sleek tube. Seeing your custom creation come to life is incredibly satisfying. Beyond just the lipstick, they also offer custom lip liners, balms, and glosses. I decided to make a matching lip liner, which perfectly complemented my new lipstick shade. The $92 price tag for both might seem a bit steep for a single lipstick and liner, but honestly, for the bespoke experience and a product that's perfectly tailored to you, I found it to be great value. Plus, it's such a fun activity to do with friends, for a special occasion, or even as a unique date idea. It’s definitely a standout among NYC activities if you're into beauty or just love trying new things. It truly embodies the spirit of creating your own lipstick in NYC, turning a simple beauty purchase into an unforgettable memory.
