Missing My Girl Already—Mom Life Is Bittersweet.
Does it ever get easier—leaving your baby, even for a few days?
This weekend I’ll be heading out for a friend’s bachelorette trip — just a couple of days away, nothing too wild. I know my daughter will be safe, loved, and well taken care of with her dad… but whew, my mama heart is still feeling it.
There’s this tug-of-war that happens — wanting to be present for every moment, but also knowing I deserve a break. Time to rest, reset, and enjoy some fun with my friends. And I will enjoy it. I need it.
But I’ll also be missing her the whole time — her voice, her hugs, her little “I love you, Mommy” moments.
So if you’ve ever packed your bag and left your little one behind for some well-deserved “you” time, and felt both excited and a little bit heavy-hearted… I see you.
We can hold both things at once — the joy of time away, and the ache of missing our babies. That’s the beautiful, complicated, tender thing about motherhood.
