Hospital Bag + Recovery Essentials for C-section
I usually post recipes, but today we’re switching it up because… C-section prep!
I’ve never had a C-section before. With my last pregnancy I delivered vaginally, but this baby has been breech since 32 weeks. So I had to completely change my birth plan and prepare for a scheduled C-section.
Here’s what I packed / bought for recovery 👇
🩷 1. Postpartum diapers
Way more comfortable than what the hospital provides. I’ll be using these + Frida Mom boy shorts.
🩷 2. Frida Mom Postpartum Kit
I bought this before knowing I’d need a C-section, but I still plan on using the peri bottle. I’ve also heard from other moms that the ice packs help with incision pain.
🩷 3. Extra ice packs
Again, mainly for the incision.
🩷 4. Comfy, soft, loose PJs
Nothing tight, nothing restrictive. Also… way better than hospital gowns.
🩷 5. Reading pillow (for home)
I’ve heard laying flat is really uncomfortable after a C-section, so this should help me relax in bed without straining my core.
🩷 6. Step stool
My bed is high and I am short 😂 This will help me get in and out of bed without hurting myself.
🩷 7. Frida Mom C-section silicone strips
I’ve heard these help with healing once the doctor gives the okay (usually around 2-3 weeks postpartum).
✨ Still adding:
• Gas-X & gum (for post-surgery gas pain)
• Magnesium citrate + Colace (because constipation after surgery is no joke)
This is everything I’ve researched to help make recovery a little easier. I’m honestly so nervous, but being prepared definitely helps.
🤍 If you’ve had a C-section, please comment and tell me if I missed anything! I’d love any tips or advice.
