I used to think doing my own braids was totally out of my league. It took patience, for sure, but the results have been so rewarding. Learning how to braid isn't just about saving money on salon visits (though that's a HUGE plus!). For me, it's become a form of self-care. Spending that time focused on my hair, understanding its texture, and creating beautiful styles has boosted my confidence like crazy. It’s amazing what you can achieve when you dedicate a little time to yourself. So, if you don't know how to braid yet, don't worry! Start with the basics. Practice simple braided hairstyles like a three-strand braid on a doll head or even a wig, then move to your own hair. Getting comfortable with your hands and understanding hair sections is key. You'll be surprised how quickly you pick it up. Once you’ve got the basics down, a whole world of stunning hairstyles opens up! I've been experimenting with so many different braid styles. For instance, I love how versatile box braids are – whether you prefer short box braids for a chic look, or medium box braids for a bit more length. And if you want to spice things up, medium knotless braids with color are absolutely gorgeous and less tension on the scalp. Cornrows are another favorite, especially boho feed-in cornrows which give such a natural, flowing vibe. Or even just cornrows half way up, leaving the rest of your hair free, creates a super stylish effect. I've seen some amazing braids in front, curly hair in back looks that use this method.
